Summary

This Medicine Pathway Group Presentation assessment will assess the student’s ability to to work as part of a group, applying their knowledge, skills, and behaviours, focussed on the learning from Infections 1, Infections 2, Autoimmune, Respiratory, Renal, Endocrine, Dermatology and Cardiovascular Teaching block. This learning will be contextualised to the processes undertaken in the Clinical Trial setting.

Only available for students studying MPharm AND Only available for UNM / Year 2 students

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate how the science behind pharmacy is applied in the discovery, design, development and safety testing of medicines and devices.
  2. Recognise the technologies that are behind developing advanced therapeutic medicinal products and precision medicines, including the formulation, supply and quality assurance of these therapeutic.
  3. Keep abreast of new technologies and use data and digital technologies to improve clinical outcomes and patient safety, keeping to information governance principles.
  4. Consider the quality, safety and risks associated with medicines and products and take appropriate action when producing, supplying and prescribing them.
  5. Anticipate and recognise adverse drug reactions, and recognise the need to apply the principles of pharmacovigilance.
