The maximum word limit is inclusive of appendices, footnotes, tables but not the bibliography. The Thesis should embody the result of the candidate’s advanced study and research.

To learn the skills required to complete the research and writing for a 160-credit dissertation. The thesis must be the student’s own work but limited proofreading assistance can be obtained with the prior approval of a supervisor.
To complete 20 credits of generic training to complement their research area to support knowledge acquisition relating to research, employability, self and team management, use of information technology, communication skills, and numeracy as applicable.
To learn the skills required to receive examiner feedback following thesis examination by an Internal Examiner and an External Examiner (where appropriate two External Examiners) who will provide independent reports and also stating whether a viva voce is required.
