Target Students
UK registered Veterinary Surgeons who meet the entry requirements contained in the supplementary regulations.

Content will be delivered by lectures and seminars. Resources to facilitate and support student self-directed and optional learning are available. Assessment
- 100% Skills audit with reflective element: Repeated assessment of the student's level of entrustability for set clinical and professional skills, forming the basis of an ongoing development plan. Four audits consisting of 5-10 Direct observation of practice assessments and a reflection on personal progress and significant clinical outcomes

Educational Aims
To encourage critical thinking and reflection to support competent, safe and high-quality veterinary practice.The learning objectives and assessment structure of this module have been developed to complement those presented in the Veterinary General Practice Clinical Teaching module and align with the expectations and requirements set out in the RCVS Professional Development Phase.Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the student will be able to:
a) Intellectual Skills
- Critically analyse complex problems associated with advanced practice and problem solve to develop solutions based on sound evidence, professional and clinical judgment through self needs analysis.
b) Professional Skills
- Demonstrate the integration of best evidence when taking a history, performing a physical examination, decision making, therapeutic intervention and evaluation acting autonomously in the management of patient care, within the scope of professional practice.
c) Transferable Skills
- Critically reflect on situations of complexity, uncertainty and inconsistency, within your specific profession on an inter-professional basis, articulating and communicating concerns and information effectively.
