Educational Aims

This course aims to develop knowledge of cell biology, microbiology and the circulatory and respiratory body systems. It comprises principles of immunity including lymphatic organs; haematology including blood clotting and blood testing; and the structure and function of cell membranes. Students will consider the regulation and adaptation of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, including the development of the systems and thus the formation of developmental abnormalities. Through the knowledge gained in this course students will be able to interpret diagnostic tests and findings of a physical examination of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
