Summary
There is no taught element beyond supervision. Students will be allocated a suitable supervisor taking into account their interests and professional experience. Students have to produce a dissertation of 12,000 words.
Target Students
Only available to MA Public Policy or Masters of Public Administration (MPA) students.
Classes
Students will be allocated a supervisor to support their dissertation work.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework: 12,000 words.

Educational Aims
To develop student’s abilities to complete a piece of original research and produce a research report.Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Critically apply research methods to a research problem.
- Generate a research design and proposal.
- Undertake a critical review of the literature and other relevant knowledge.
- Carry out desk or field research.
- Critically analyse a substantive policy/management topic.
- Write a research report.
- Students will enhance their transferable skills through managing and completing an independent piece of research.
- Producing the dissertation will enhance their writing skills.
