Educational Aims
This module aims to provide students with a critical insight into psychological factors which may help us understand, predict and change health-related behaviour.Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
• Describe and critically evaluate theories, methods and approaches to understand, predict and change health-related behaviour.
• Critically appraise the role of cognitive and emotional factors affecting decision making in health.
• Describe and critically appraise key steps in the design and evaluation of health-related behaviour change interventions.
• Apply theories, models and methods used in health psychology to assess health needs and design an ecologically valid, feasible, and theory-informed behaviour change intervention.
