Summary
This module develops a critical understanding of key issues in the interaction between patients and health care contexts. These include:
a) Patient-centered care
b) communication in health care settings including developing rapport & trust and non-verbal communication
c) the impact of hospitalisation on adults / children
d) preparation for stressful medical/ dental procedures
e) giving bad news and death, dying and bereavement
f) adherence to treatment advice/regimens

- One 4-hour lecture each week for 5 weeks
