Summary
This module will provide students with the opportunity to develop knowledge and critical awareness of the current issues in forensic analytical methods. It will cover the essential principles for students and directly relate the techniques to applications in real practice and research situations.
Target Students
Doctorate in Forensic Psychology, MSc Forensic and Criminological Psychology

- 100% Practical: Multiple choice qualitative and quantitative exercises

Educational Aims
This module aims to further develop the students understanding of research methods in a forensic psychology context, exploring more complex study designs and statistical methods. Analytical methods will be explored in depth with consideration of both quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods designs. Students will be able to evaluate the utility of different research designs to address specific forensic psychology research questions. Alongside research-informed teaching, students will be responsible for facilitating student-led seminar sessions. This will aid the students to take responsibility for their own professional development and work effectively with others hearing different perspectivesLearning Outcomes

Demonstrate the ability to critically analyse, evaluate, interpret and synthesise primary empirical evidence and other sources relevant to forensic psychology
