Summary
This module offers students the opportunity to conduct an applied workplace health and wellbeing research project.
Target Students
Students within the Division of Psychiatry & Applied Psychology taking the MSc in Workplace Health and Wellbeing
Classes
- Three 1-hour lectures each week for 13 weeks
Lectures: 3 x 1 hour Individual supervision at 10 hours (max) per student Self study – 580 hours Student research conference: 7 hours.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework 1: 1 x 8,000 WORD research portfolio
Assessed by end of summer vacation
Educational Aims
Aims: The project is designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage in, and learn from, supervised project work in applied psychology. The emphasis is on applied research and associated methods in an organisational context.OBJECTIVES:On completion of this module, students should be able to:design, manage, analyse and report on an empirical study in workplace health and wellbeing understand the social psychological and management skills necessary for the successful completion of such a studyLearning Outcomes

- How to design a research study
- How to secure ethical approval for a research study
- How to analyse data
- How to write up the study as if for publication in a scientific journal
- How to report finding for an external audience
Practical and Professional Skills:
