Summary
This module seeks to extend the appreciation of both qualitative and quantitative research methods in psychology. It considers:
a) some specialised methods of gathering data in psychological research, eg experimental methods, focus groups, diary studies, direct observation, use of the Internet
b) epidemiological research methods
c) further multivariate analysis
d) further qualitative analysis, eg narrative analysis and IPA
Target Students
Students registered on MSc Psychological Research Methods degree or other pg degrees in I-WHO or Psychology/ CHS.
Classes
- One 6-hour workshop each week for 4 weeks

Assessment
- 100% Coursework 1: 2 x 2,500 word reports based on 2 of the techniques studied

The module provides an insight into some more advanced or specialised techniques of data collection, organisation and analysis in applied psychological research.Learning Outcomes
