Summary
This module teaches contemporary understanding and recent research of the following common childhood clinical and behavioral disorders:
Conduct disorder – Oppositional Defiant Disorder – Depression – Anxiety – Childhood onset schizophrenia – Therapies for young people – Pharmacological interventions – Comorbidity of mental health problems and developmental disorders

Classes
- One 1-hour seminar each week for 10 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 10 weeks
Details: Lecture recordings from the UK will be used to deliver lecture content. The seminars will be run by the module convener however to support learning of the topics and also to provide opportunities for in-class discussion and applications of knowledge in local contexts. Further Activity Detail: Workshops support the needs of assessment and are exclusive to students taking this module.

Educational Aims
The module will review a variety of behavioural and clinical disorders, with a focus on how they develop in childhood and adolescence. Relationships between childhood clinical and behavioural disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders will also be discussed. Aspects of diagnosis and etiology will be covered. The module will also provide opportunities to reflect on the practical implications for intervention.Learning Outcomes
