Summary
This module is designed for students on research degrees (e.g. PhD) in behavioural sciences (e.g. Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Sociology) to equip them with professional skills in their field. We will cover topics such as:
Gaining ethics approval for your research
Ethical conduct in science (credit, authorship, data fabrication)
Reputation management (social media etc.)
Graphical representation of data
Effective use of authoring tools (Word, Latex, referencing software)
Creating a poster

Classes
- One 2-hour workshop each week for 5 weeks
- One 1-hour seminar each week for 20 weeks
Teaching will be delivered via:20 x 1hour seminars in the School (these are already organised and presented)5 x 2hour workshops in particular skills
Assessment
- 100% Coursework 1: Portfolio: 6x Seminar reports, 1x Ethics proposal, 1x Poster Presentation
