Summary
This module looks at domain-specific topics in academic research in psychology. Students elect to study one of the following areas:
Clinical, Cognitive, Developmental, Educational, Computational Neuroscience, Visual Neuroscience, Behavioural Neuroscience, and Social Psychology.
Students explore in depth their chosen knowledge area and its related methodological issues with the view of applying basic theory to their own research interests.
Target Students
PGRs or PGTs registered on courses in Psychology.
Classes
- One 2-hour seminar each week for 10 weeks
Assessment
- 100% Dissertation: 1 x 5,000 word dissertation

Educational Aims
This module aims to explore the importance of incorporating psychological theory, research and methods into the students' own academic research. Objectives: On completion of this module, students should be able to: define and critically discuss domain-specific research and methodological issues; illustrate this knowledge with reference to their own researchLearning Outcomes
