Summary
The aim of the module is to introduce students to the key concepts and widely used theories from the autobiographical memory literature. During the module, neurological, cognitive, developmental, social, clinical and applied perspectives on the topic will be offered. Furthermore, the module aims to introduce students to a wide range of research methods that can be used to examine different aspects of autobiographical memory. Finally, the module aims to familiarise students with the applications of findings from the autobiographical memory literature into real-world situations
Target Students
Primarily for Psychology students at UNMC Available to JYA/Erasmus students.
Classes
- Two 2-hour lectures each week for 11 weeks
Assessment
- 50% Coursework 1: A 1,500-2,000-word research proposal
- 50% Exam 1 (1-hour-30-minute): One essay and 30 MCQs

Educational Aims
To provide students with knowledge about autobiographical research; to help students develop critical skills; to help students develop in their ability to synthesize complex materials; to help students develop skills in formulating and responding to critical questions.Learning Outcomes

•How these concepts and theories are measured and tested and be able to discuss the relative merits and drawbacks of various methods
•Be familiar with applications of autobiographical memory research
