Educational Aims

These practicals give students hands-on experience with designing and running Psychology studies, as well as analysing, interpreting data, and writing reports. These practical skills require some reference to content taught in research methods courses. These practicals will provide students with the ability to conduct and evaluate research studies, interpret findings from inferential statistical tests, complete qualitative analyses, develop skills in project management and teamwork.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module the students should be able to design, implement, analyze, interpret and describe (both in written reports and oral presentation) psychological studies. This course will give students practical skills that complement the theoretical concepts presented in the Research Methods and Analysis course. Students will recognize when it is appropriate to use specific analyses (quantitative and qualitative), how to interpret interactions between factors and make valid statistical inferences. Students will learn how to integrate new research with previous literature and be able to understand the strengths and limitations of psychology methods.
