Summary
The module covers the core consultancy skills required by those studying occupational, work and organisational, occupational health and health psychology. It also considers ethical issues and the Code of Conduct of the British Psychological Society
Target Students
Any PG-T students from FASS or FOSE, subject to their home programme recognising the module.

Educational Aims
The module aims to provide students with a basic: Knowledge of consultancy skills: how to deal successfully with organisations and professional bodies.OBJECTIVES: On completion of this module, students should be able to: Understand the skills involved in "getting in, getting on and getting out" of organisations" be able to write for a non-academic audience, consider the ethical implications of working as a professional psychologistLearning Outcomes
Knowledge and Understanding
A1 the theoretical basis of management psychology
A7 Sound knowledge and understanding of the consultancy process and consultancy cycle
A8 competency in the problem solving cycle to address applied problems, i.e identifying needs; designing and implementing interventions; evaluating outcomes; critical reflection and review
A9 awareness of the social, ethical and organisational issues involved in research and practitioner contexts
A10 knowledge and appreciation of the need for theory and evidence driven interventions in occupational and organisational settings and contexts
