Summary
This module introduces a variety of advanced methods, tools and techniques in the collection and analyses of data used in applied psychology with the aid of SPSS. The module will cover both qualitative and quantitative methods (although emphasis will lie on the latter) that will enable students to carry out empirical research work for their third year project
Target Students
2nd year students in BSc Applied Psychology & Management Studies only
Classes
- One 2-hour tutorial each week for 3 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 13 weeks
Assessment
- 25% Coursework 1: Research Report, 1 x 1000 word
- 25% Coursework 2: Research Proposal, 1 x 1000 word essay
- 50% Exam 1 (1-hour): 1 hour exam
Assessed by end of autumn semester
