Summary
During this course, the student will be able to discuss, apply and develop their knowledge base relevant to physiotherapy within the practice placement context. Experience may be gained in the physiotherapeutic management of one or more of the following areas: musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions and/or through developing skills in leadership, projects, and research. Students will be supervised by a designated clinical educator and supported by a university tutor. All assessment elements for this course must be passed and are non compensatable.
Target Students
Level 3 BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy students.
Classes
Full time clinical practice over four consecutive weeks, 130 hours (minimum).

- 100% Coursework 1: Continuous assessment

Educational Aims
To extend and deepen the students’ range of professional and therapeutic skills. To encourage the development of professional autonomy in order that supervision can be replaced by discussion and consultation.Learning Outcomes

Justify the appropriate assessment and management interventions to use within the practice placement context, with reference to evidence-based knowledge.

Critically evaluate the role, benefits and limitations of physiotherapy with reference to current evidence-based practice.

Demonstrate the ability to plan, carry out, modify/progress and evaluate therapeutic management.
Write concise and accurate ongoing medico-legal and ethical records.

Demonstrate effective and appropriate professional behaviours to work within scope of practice
