Summary
For this course, students are required to undertake a project of their choosing within the wider community in a health and wellbeing or rehabilitation setting. They will use self-directed learning to acquire knowledge and skills in an area of particular interest, which they will then use to plan an intervention or activity. The opportunities are diverse and flexible and will be negotiated.

Classes
- One 1-hour lecture
Practical - 35 hours Lecture - 1 hour Independent study - 64 hours
Assessment
- 20% Coursework 1: Continuous assessment of conduct during project
- 80% Presentation 1: Reflection 10 minutes plus 5 minutes questions.

Educational Aims
This course aims to develop students’ ability to self-direct their learning in an area of interest whilst contributing to the wider community. Students will make a significant contribution to a small project on a health and/or exercise related theme. Communication, time management and inter-professional skills will be further developed in an environment of choice for the student.Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the area of interest, including current guidelines/research evidence/theory in support of their project area (where applicable)
Analyse and integrate relevant research evidence/guidelines within the scope of the project
Critically evaluate the outcome of the project using accepted measures
Develop and undertake a project within a community setting.
Demonstrate excellent use of relevant practical skills in completing the project.
Demonstrate highly developed organisational, communication, inter-professional and team-working skills .
