Educational Aims
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the elements of exercise science pertinent to a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator, as outlined by the professional and regulatory body (BASRaT). The course will allow students to build an appreciation of the scope of practice of different exercise science disciplines to enable the identification of suitable opportunities for referral. Students will also develop the basic knowledge and skills to enable them to apply exercise science with service users within the scope of a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator.Learning Outcomes
Identify the opportunity to apply exercise science concepts within the field of Sport Rehabilitation.
Demonstrate knowledge of the physiological, biochemical, and psychological responses to exercise.
Apply evidence-based strategies to enhance exercise performance, promote physical activity, improve health, or minimise injury risk.
Appreciate the roles of a range of exercise science professionals/disciplines.
