Summary

This course will introduce Sport Rehabilitation students to the concepts of professionalism and citizenship both nationally and internationally. This will allow students to start developing as future leaders within the profession as BASRaT registered Graduate Sport Rehabilitators. Students will be introduced to a variety of working environments accessible to Graduate Sport Rehabilitators and identify the unique challenges and opportunities that each present. Consideration will also be made to the larger globalised profession including Athletic Training and Therapy.

Educational Aims

The aim of the course is to develop students’ knowledge and awareness of the Sport Rehabilitation profession and its place within the global professional landscape. Students will develop a working knowledge of the various employment sectors available to Graduate Sport Rehabilitators and the professional role in each. Professional conduct, appreciation of other relevant health professionals and the responsibilities and scope of practice of a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator will be reinforced throughout.

Identify and apply the professional regulations and requirements of a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator. 

Identify the professional position of Sport Rehabilitation within a globalised healthcare workforce. 

Identify suitable opportunities to engage with a global network in a professional manner. 

Utilise suitable methods of disseminating information to other professionals.
