Summary
The aim of module is to prepare students to take up management roles in industry and to equip them with tools to start their own businesses.
Advanced management topics including Corporate Social Responsibility, Ethics, Sustainability, IPR, contracts and finance will be covered using a practical approach.
Target Students
Primarily for 4th/3rd year students in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering. MSc postgraduate students. Available to JYA/Erasmus students.Passing Mark/Grade: 40% for UG BEng; 50% for UG MEng ; 50% for PG MSc
Classes
- One 1-hour seminar each week for 12 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 12 weeks
Assessment
- 40% Coursework 1: Business Analysis - about 10 pages max
- 40% Coursework 2: Business Plan - about 10 pages max
- 20% Coursework 3: Business Pitch - Presentation of 5-10 minutes
