Summary

This module provides an introduction to Japanese literature and enables students to explore closely the texts in its target language. Students will also investigate how the texts reflect issues in Japanese society respectively. By examining the texts in its target language, students will be able to develop further on the core language they are learning in SMLC, as well as enhance the understanding of Japanese history, culture, people and society.

Target Students

Offered mainly as Elective module for year 2 International Communication Studies students who are STUDYING Japanese as core language module. Also available as elective module to all year 2 and year 3 students in UNM and JYA/Erasmus students who have a certain level of Japanese language proficiency (these students must contact the module convenor soonest possible for their level to be assessed before registering.) Not available for native speakers.

Classes

Activities may take place every teaching week of the Semester or only in specified weeks. It is usually specified above if an activity only takes place in some weeks of a Semester.
