Summary
A written report providing background (3,000 words) and a brief description of laboratory work (1,500 words) to be performed on placement submitted at the end of Semester 5, along with a 3-min project pitch. The literature review of the project includes historical, technological and therapeutic information together with an introduction to the specific project including a research plan that the student will be, or is, working on. The project protocol will outline the subject area of the research project that will be undertaken during the one year placement. The project pitch will make a persuasive case to introduce the project and justify why it is worth pursuing. The information will be obtained by personal study directed by the industrial/academic supervisor with additional guidance from the Academic Placement coordinator.
