Summary
This module aims to provide students with skills for communicating science to a wide audience. The module will also give students the opportunity to look at the impact of pharmacology on the wider community, for example, environmental and societal impact.

Classes
This module may be delivered through lectures, seminars, workshops and labs.
Assessment
- 50% Presentation: Oral Presentation (15 minutes).
- 50% Coursework 1: Summary of a research paper.

Educational Aims
The students will learn how to communicate science to different audiences (lay v scientific community) using different styles of presentation (poster, oral presentation, abstract, summary review). As well as this, students will learn to consider the impact of disease on society.Learning Outcomes
A student who completes this module will be expected to be able:
1. To communicate complex scientific concepts using language appropriate for a lay audience.
2. To summarise scientific writing in a concise manner in abstract form.
3. To communicate information to a scientific audience using oral presentation skills.
4. To consider the impact of disease on society.
