Summary

This module includes an introduction to the general principles of criminal law and the study of the major groups of serious offences and defences, and the principles of secondary and inchoate liability. It adopts a critical perspective to enable students not only to apply principles but also offer a critique of them.

Only available to UG Year 2 students in the School of Law and exchange students hosted by the School of Law

This module is taught through a combination of lectures and tutorials.

Assessed in both autumn & spring semest

To develop an understanding of substantive criminal law. To develop critical and analytical legal reasoning skills. To develop oral and written presentation skills.
