Summary
This module further develops students’ Mandarin listening and speaking skills acquired in Mandarin Listening and Speaking 2A, enhanced by intensive interaction in class, the use of online materials, e-learning and multi-media methods.
Students are also required to undertake a programme of autonomous learning. The module will be delivered in a blended modality for which students will be given access to a virtual learning environment with extra activities and resources.
Requisites:
Successful completion of Mandarin Listening and Speaking 2A or equivalent qualification.
Students must not choose this course if they are over-qualified. The Language Centre reserves the right to check students’ prior learning and qualifications and to move students to a more appropriate level if necessary.
Please note this module is assessed at the end of Autumn semester. First sit/ Resit exams are scheduled normally in the summer and can take the same form as the missing/ failed component of the assessment (exam, essay etc.) or other form, as decided by the School.
Target Students
Priority will be given to students who are doing this module as a compulsory element of their degree.Successful completion of Mandarin Listening and Speaking 2A or equivalent qualification.

- One 1-hour seminar each week for 11 weeks
- One 2-hour seminar each week for 11 weeks

- 100% Oral Exam: Oral examination, 20 min

Educational Aims
The overall aim of the module is to help students develop competence in their listening and speaking skills of Mandarin. Students will continue to develop their awareness of autonomy in language learning under the guidance of their language tutor.Learning Outcomes
