Summary

This module concentrates on revising the basic skills acquired during previous study and aims to develop further students’ four language skills and communicative ability in Mandarin in more complex situations. Each session will consist of a variety of activities arising from the themes and structures, which underpin the course programme.
Students are also required to undertake a programme of autonomous learning. The module will be delivered in a blended modality for which students will be given access to a virtual learning environment with extra activities and resources.

The module includes three types of assessment format: Oral Exam (50%), Written Exam (50%), and a formative assessment in the form of an online mid-term assessment, which does not contribute to the final mark.

Requisites:

Students enrolling this module should have successful completion of Mandarin 2A, or an equivalent qualification. The Language Centre reserves the right to check students’ prior learning and qualifications and move students to a more appropriate level if necessary.
