Summary
This module will introduce students to theoretical perspectives on environmental knowledge and action, such as Human Action Theory, social learning, knowledge co-production and the science-policy interface. Through interactive exercises and student-led enquiry, specialist knowledge from throughout the degree programme will be interrogated and applied to real-world environmental challenges.
Target Students
Students studying on the MSc Environmental Leadership and Management programmes.
Classes
Teaching will take place through a mixture of lectures and seminars.
Assessment
- 30% Coursework 1: 500 words (Autumn).
- 70% Coursework 2: 1,500 words (Spring).
Assessed in both autumn & spring semest
Educational Aims
(1) To introduce perspectives on how environmental knowledge is defined, created, and used in different organisational and policy-making settings.(2) To facilitate student-led enquiry into topic-specific case studies of exemplary environmental practice.Learning Outcomes
