Summary
Target Students
Students registered on the Environmental Science programme at The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China.
Classes
- One 30-minute tutorial each week for 9 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 10 weeks
Lectures take place every teaching week of the semester and in class activities may take place in specified weeks. The detailed schedule will be given out at the beginning of the semester.
Assessment
- 20% Coursework 1: poster based on pilot study. Assessed at the end of Autumn Semester
- 70% Dissertation: 5000 words. Assessed at the end of Spring Semester
- 10% Presentation: 10 minutes from the student. Assessed at the end of teaching weeks during the Spring Semester

a. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of environmental science topics to the level that the student can identify a research question, plan the study and implement the planned project to address that question
b. Analyse acquired data using well-established methods for the topic being studied;
c. Summarise and evaluate the key findings based on the knowledge learned from the lecture materials as well as academic publications.

- Students apply the professional skills (computation, lab experiment and/or field work) needed for a variety subjects of environmental sciences.
