Summary

Students will choose a topic in consultation with the MA Course Convenor and an appropriate supervisor. There will be a published deadline for submission of titles for formal approval by the MA Convenor and the Director of PG(T), along with a 500 word summary of the proposal. The topic will normally be based on interests and skills students have developed in the course of the modules already studied.

Students on the programme MA in Social Science Research (Applied Linguistics)

Classes

Students are entitled to a maximum of 4 hours supervision. Preliminary meetings will explore approaches to the Dissertation (on some MA programmes, these will take the form of required seminars or workshops). Supervision thereafter will be arranged with individual students. Supervisors will normally undertake to read a detailed plan plus a chapter or section of the dissertation
