Assessment

Educational Aims

To provide knowledge of the fundamentals of artificial intelligence technologies and their relevance to Electronic Engineering applications.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module, students should be able to:

LO1    Analyse available data, which may be obtained by means of experiments or simulated model, to make a conclusion regarding the nature of the problem posed.
LO2    Apply stochastic optimisation method to design/engineer a functional artificially intelligent system.
LO3    Select and apply the appropriate artificial intelligence-based tools to solve a multidimensional problem, considering the nature of the problem and limitation of the tools.
LO4    Design a solution based on an artificial intelligence approach for a complex multidimensional problem considering potential health & safety, ethical and equality, diversity and inclusion concerns.
LO5    Select, apply and adopt the appropriate risk management to ensure an inclusive artificial intelligent solution.
LO6    Develop an efficient artificial intelligent solution process and algorithm to solve a multidimensional or data demanding problem.

This module contributes to the delivery of the following Engineering Council outcomes:

M1, M2, C3, M3, M5, C11, M11, C12 and M12
