Summary
The researching and writing of a substantive piece of scholarship within the field of the MA. Students will choose a topic in consultation with their MA module Leader and an appropriate supervisor. The topic will normally be based on interests and skills students have developed in the course of the modules already studied.

Educational Aims
This module aims to provide the candidate with the skills and knowledge to develop and design a programme of research to the standard expected of a Masters level practitioner. From establishing the necessary impetus through critical engagement with previous research, candidates will outline a clear research question(s) which they will seek to answer using the most suitable research method. Candidates will go through the stages of the research process from ethical clearance through to managing and implementing a programme of research, data analysis and outline of findings in the dissertation document.Learning Outcomes

• evaluate the material developed or acquired
