Summary
In this module, students discover the various digital technologies enabling people to learn together in pairs, teams or even larger communities. Particularly, the module will cover theories of social learning and apply them to the design of digital technology currently available for social learning.
Target Students
Students registered for MA Education.
Classes
- One 3-hour seminar each week for 10 weeks
This module consists of 300 hours of study including engagement with journal articles and other academic materials. Students will use various online tools to further extend their experience and demonstrate their knowledge, including knowledge building platforms, social media, digital communication
Assessment
- 100% Coursework: An assignment of 6,000 words with 10% tolerance either way

- a broad grasp of a number of theories relating to the social dimension of teaching and learning;
- an understanding of various ways in which digital technology can support educational practice through social communication;

- a critical appreciation of how theories of social communication guide the development of digital technology for educational practice;
