Summary
This module explores the processes involved in designing and conducting the literature review for doctoral theses. This will include how to carry out literature searches, linked to consideration of the scope of such reviews. It will distinguish between different types of literature; theoretical, empirical, descriptive, normative and official (or grey) sources. The module will also examine how to link the review to research questions and to research design. It will also consider how to structure literature reviews.
Target Students
Part-time students, experienced education professionals, on the Professional Doctorate in Education.

- 1% Assignment: 6000 word written assignment
