Educational Aims

To develop in participants an awareness of the: theory relating to purpose of education and equality of access to learning opportunities; key debates and issues concerning the field of special and inclusive education; impact theory and policy have upon practice.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding 
On successful completion of the module, students will have knowledge and understanding of: 
 

the broader context of researching special and inclusive education  

issues concerning the identification and assessment of special educational needs.

understand and critique theory and research evidence in the area of special and inclusive education
