Summary
The module aims to provide a rigorous understanding of the use of game theoretic methods in economics. It will illustrate a combination of mathematical tools and application in concrete specific economic problems.
Having completed the module, students will be able to read and command theoretical game theory models and to build application to interactions between economic agents.
Target Students
MRes and first year PhD (non-MRes route) Economics students.

This module is delivered through a combination of lectures and tutorials.

- 100% Exam (2-hour): Exam

Educational Aims
The purposes of this module are:To familiarise students with recent developments in microeconomics;To help students to practise and improve their modelling skills; To show the broad range of theoretical methods that can be applied to study issues in economics.Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module, students should:
- Be familiar with some of the most important recent theoretical methods in microeconomics
- Have developed their appreciation for the ways in which that theory can deepen our understanding of a wide range of economic problems
- Have gained confidence and experience at constructing and analysing economic models.
