Summary
This module will provide an introduction to international monetary issues, including the determination of exchange rates and international spill-over effects.

Year 3 School of Economics students.

- One 1-hour tutorial each week for 2 weeks

- 25% Coursework 1: Group Essay

Educational Aims
We learn various economic models in the open-economy context. Specifically, models we study help us consider topics relating to exchange rate determination; effectiveness of macroeconomic policies in a small open economy; international spill-over effects; current account balance; financial crisis. Various stylised facts are presented in relation to theories.Learning Outcomes
