Summary

This module considers the main processes and people involved in the development and production of screen content. 

In particular, it will cover the following areas:

• People (talent development and management) 

• Ideas (development and content creation)

• Money (financing and assets)

• Places (global production trends)

Available for students on BA Film and Television Studies.Also available to Liberal Arts students.

Educational Aims

The module aims to develop student understanding and knowledge of the processes and people involved in the production of film, television and screen products today. It will do so by mapping out: a) the key roles and responsibilities of industry ‘producers’; b) the role of institutions in the industry, including studios, production companies, labour organisations/Guilds/professional societies and related; c) issues concerning financing, budgets and related aspects, such as IP and pay structures; d) global trends in production, including flows of talent, co-productions and production contexts in different territories.
