To develop generic research skills needed to support innovative research and completion of the MRes degree.Learning Outcomes
1. Knowledge & Understanding
A1 – Students should be able to demonstrate a broader understanding of the principles behind chemical engineering or chemical technology in addition to specific knowledge on the researched subject.
2. Intellectual Skills
B1 - Students should be able to form considered judgments about the technical qualities of a chemical process or device within the context of the surrounding environment both at the micro- and the macro level.
3. Professional/Practical Skills
C1 - Students should be able to use background research to acquire new knowledge of project-specific topics and communicate this through their designs.
C5 – Students should be able to evaluate projects and write reports that are
targeted at professionals at board level within an organisation.
4. Transferable/Key Skills
D2 – Students should be able to communicate their ideas fully to those without specialist knowledge.
D3 – Students should be able to show time management and organizational skills.
D4 – Student should be able to compile materials in a comprehensive and legible format, and complete a report as required.
