Summary
Process of assurance; introduction to internal control (including revenue and purchases systems); internal audit; audit sampling; substantive test; independence, objectivity and integrity
Target Students
Business School MSc students meeting pre-requisites and subject to compliance with module choice requirements, as listed in the degree programme specification. In addition, other MA/MSc students meeting pre-requisites and subject to the discretion of the Director of MSc Programmes
Classes
- One 2-hour seminar each week for 5 weeks
- Two 2-hour lectures each week for 7 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture
Activities may take place every teaching week of the Semester or only in specified weeks. It is usually specified above if an activity only takes place in some weeks of a Semester
Assessment
- 100% Exam 1 (2-hour): One 2 hour exam
Educational Aims
This aim of the Assurance module is to ensure that students understand the assurance process and fundamental principles of ethics and are able to contribute to the assessment of internal controls and gathering of evidence on an assurance engagement.Learning Outcomes
