Summary
After opportunities are identified and new ventures are found, growing and managing entrepreneurial ventures are also important. This module will introduce the key concepts, theories, analytical frameworks and practices of growing and managing entrepreneurial firms. Students will learn the knowledge and ability required to manage entrepreneurial firms.
Pre-Requisites:
Students must have taken the following modules:
BUSI1116 Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice or BUSI2120 Corporate Entrepreneurship
Target Students
Part 2 Business School students and exchange students with equivalent background to meet pre-requisites.
Classes
- One 1-hour-30-minute seminar each week for 3 weeks
- One 1-hour-30-minute lecture each week for 11 weeks
Assessment
- 70% 2000 words individual coursework.: 2000 words individual coursework.
- 30% Group Presentation (10 – 15 minutes): Group Presentation (10 – 15 minutes)

Educational Aims
This module focuses on building and managing entrepreneurial ventures. It introduces the concepts, theories, and practices related to entrepreneurial leadership, strategy, and managing entrepreneurial ventures in varying contexts (e.g., corporate, local, and international ventures). Students will learn through various teaching methods, such as readings, lectures, videos, in-class activities, case analysis and discussion.Learning Outcomes
Discuss the concepts and theories related to entrepreneurial management.
Critically analyse and evaluate theories learned in class and apply them to new situations.
Work with case studies.
Communicate effectively and persuasively about topics covered in the module.
Work in teams to produce and deliver a presentation.
