Summary
All companies have to choose where to locate their premises and how to arrange the manufacturing and service departments within those premises. This module provides an understanding of the factors which influence a company's choice of location, and of how to approach the design of layouts to support a company's strategic objectivs and maximise the efficiency of its operations.
Target Students
Level 2 and 3/4 undergraduate students. Also available to Exchange Students.
Classes
- One 1-hour seminar each week for 2 weeks
- One 2-hour seminar
- One 1-hour lecture each week for 11 weeks
Assessment
- 30% Coursework 1: Group Coursework (2,000 words)
- 70% Exam 1 (2-hour): In-person written exam
