Summary

This module is designed to 1) provide students with a critical understanding of the development trends of work, career, and organisations as well as challenges observed in the changing workplace and organisations; 2) help students to develop mindset and expertise in the area of personal and professional development.

The module will contain three parts: 
The development trends of work and organisational career.
Key topics include changing forms of work with a particular focus on the new types of work such as gig workers and virtual/remote work; fundamentals of organisational career and career development in time of changes and uncertainty, etc
The development trends of workplace and organisations.

  1. Key topics include digitalised workplace, human-centered organisational development, managing diversity and changes, etc 
  2. Working in the changing organisations. 
  3. The focus of this part will be on methods, techniques, and strategies to optimize human capital by combining personal and organizational factors for career development assessment, information, organizational culture, motivational styles, work values and other processes for influencing individual and organizational change. This will enable students to gain practical knowledge and skill set, with which students are able to take ownership of their personal and professional development in the changing organisations.
