This module contains:
The use of accounting information systems in financial and mangement accounting and their control and audit.
Introduction to systems;
Business processes;
Budgeting and decision support systems;
Internal control and audit;
Computer crime and external audit;
Enterprise resource planning systems.
Re-assessment format is decided by the school.
Target Students
Compulsory for FAM students, optional for IBM students. There is a limited number of places on this module. Students are reminded that enrolments which are not agreed by the Offering School in advance may be cancelled without notice.
Classes
- One 1-hour-30-minute lecture each week for 11 weeks
- One 2-hour computing each week for 4 weeks
Assessment
- 35% Project 1: One group problem-based project
- 65% Exam 1 (1-hour-30-minute): 1.5 hour exam

To provide students with an understanding of how information technology can support the activities of the accountant and management within an organisation and the problems associated with controlling and auditing such resulting information systems.Learning Outcomes
