Summary
The module explores how corporations serve a broad public purpose, which is to create value for society. They are responsible for professional developments of their employees, innovative products and services for their customers, and add value to the community in which they operate. Moreover, this calls for collaborative goals which are enabled by engaging stakeholders. Ethics and responsible business practices are increasingly becoming central for this.
Target Students
Qualifying year Business School students only.
Classes
- One 2-hour workshop each week for 3 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 10 weeks
1 x 2 hours Lecture per week, x 10 weeks 1 x 2 hours Workshop x 3 weeks
Assessment
- 100% Exam (1-hour-30-minute)

- The comprehension and use of relevant communications for application in business and management, including the use of digital tools.
- The development of appropriate policies and strategies within a changing environment to meet stakeholder interests.
- The need for individuals and organisations to manage responsibly and sustainably and behave ethically in relation to social, cultural, economic and environmental issues.
- The design, development of organisations, including cross-cultural issues, change, diversity and values.
Intellectual skills:
This module develops:
- Conceptual and critical thinking, analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
Professional practical skills:
This module develops:
- Self-analysis and awareness/sensitivity to diversity in terms of people and cultures. This includes a continuing appetite for development.
