Summary
To develope the awareness of language and basic understanding of the nature odf social sustainability.
Target Students
Students enrolled in Foundation Business and Management and Foundations in Arts and Education.
Classes
- One 1-hour tutorial each week for 5 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 10 weeks
Assessment
- 30% Coursework: 1500 words group assignment
- 70% Exam (1-hour-30-minute): 1 x 90 minute examination (70%)

Educational Aims
-To develop the awareness of the language and basic understanding of the nature of social sustainability.-To provide students with the opportunity to develop critical understanding of social sustainability by considering the baisc principles of sustainable communities, social change, social innovation, design thinking and social enterprises.Learning Outcomes
-To know and understand the underlaying concepts and principles of social sustainability as they relate to modern society and governance.
-The ability to organise ideas gained theoritical understanding of social sustainability principles and apply them in social, management, and social enterprise situations.
-Demonstrate qualitative skills of business problem analysis, reserach and solution.
-Demonstrate self-awareness, teamwork and leadership skills.
