Summary
The module will provide you with understanding of career plannng and pathways and develop skills sought by employers. you will be able to design experiments and carry out data analysis, interpretation and presentation of data. You will also get to learn skills on qualitative research and careers skills (CV writing, interviews).

Classes
- One 2-hour workshop
- One 2-hour tutorial
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 4 weeks
- One 2-hour computing each week for 6 weeks
10 hours Lecture, 8 hours computing, 4 hours workshop and 2 hours tutorial.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework: Portfolio made of group presentation and Statistics Questionaire

Educational Aims
The aim of this module is to train biotechnologists in career planning and acquire the skill set required by employers. Enable students to learn the major analytical techniques available, and how they relate to each other, and acquire the skills in designing experiments analysing data using appropriate software and presentation of resultsLearning Outcomes
On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the career planning and the global job market
2. Identify career pathways and the skills sought by employers
3. Understand opportunities in creating an own enterprise
4. Demonstrate a range of professional behaviours and competencies associated within the discipline
5. To develop the skills to design experiments, collect data and analyse using statistical software Genstat.
6. To develop the skills to present results appropriately
