Summary
Under the Allied Health Professions Act 2016 in Malaysia, nutrition students are required to complete a mandatory industrial placement during the Summer semester of their third year to qualify as nutritionists. During this period, students will be monitored and mentored by the module convener and placement supervisor and will maintain an online logbook of their attendance and experiences, culminating in a reflective report. The placement aims to enhance technical, interpersonal, and communication skills while bridging academic knowledge with real-world applications. Although this module is non-compensable, it is crucial for career development.
Target Students
BSc Nutrition (B400). Capped module - registration by agreement with the module convener only.
Classes
- Five 8-hour placements each week for 12 weeks
Placement will only take place during the Summer semester.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework: Report, Logbook and Presentation

Educational Aims
The industrial placement program aims to offer students industry experience, apply degree-related skills to real-world situations, develop technical and interpersonal skills, and foster partnerships between Nottingham University (UNMC) and industry partners for future career and study planning.Learning Outcomes
