Summary
This module provides an in-depth introduction to the economic environment for modern agricultural businesses. Students will examine key agricultural commodity markets and supply chains, and how agricultural prices are determined in a global and connected economy. We’ll look at the structure of agricultural markets and what this means for agribusiness decision making.

Educational Aims
This module explores agribusiness in the context of the global economy. Students will examine key agricultural commodity markets and supply chains, and how agricultural prices are determined in a global and connected economy. We’ll look at the structure of agricultural markets and what this means for agribusiness decision making.Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
1. Illustrate the role of global economic drivers in agribusiness.
2. Describe the impact of market structure on decision making within the agricultural business environment.
3. Analyse information from a range of sources to present information to aid business-related decision making.
4. Critically evaluate information sources, particularly information and data available on the internet.
5. Communicate accurately, clearly, concisely and confidently in written, verbal and visual forms making appropriate acknowledgement to the work of others.
